So here I am browsing the web and it suddenly starts going really slow. I checked other websites just to make sure. No, so I use NetSupport to remote control to my parents machine, and sure enough, someone was listening to the 30-second previews quite often from the iTunes Store.
Only a few days later, I was downloading like 2GB of torrents and naturally set the bandwidth consumption to maximum, then every computer on the networks internet connection was extremely slow. Only to find that iTunes kept on “Buffering”. Since it uses IEs proxy settings, I really should set up some sort of bandwidth throttling system to make sure that iTunes doesn’t buffer and the I can browse the net at a reasonable speed.

Today at school, I used this really cool program called Cinema 4D for the OS X platform. Basically its a 3D animation program, to make, well, 3D animations! Why can’t Maxon create a version for Windows? Maybe, after a little thought, I came up with the answer of: as soon as you choose to render your animation, it’ll crash – all work gone (unless you either save it manually or turn on autosave).
Another one of my favourite 3D programs has to be ofcouse Google’s SketchUp. Its so simple yet so effective, I used it to design a hand-held games console for my technology exam (with the caption “This image is not off the internet” written in bold below it). For creating 3D text, I find that Xara 3D is a good program, but if you can’t be doing with programs, then you can’t forget good old CoolText. I used to think FlamingText was better, but it doesn’t render the images as good as it used to.

Have you heard about the new Safari for Windows?
I have and I’ve gave it a test-drive. Heres what I think about it…
Usability
Excellent, since I’m a big fan of tabbed browsing. In about an hours session on my laptop, I’d estimate I’d open about 3o+ tabs, ofcouse if I’m signed into MSN (i.e. people send me links). If I’m not signed into MSN then I guess I’d open about 20+ tabs – anyway, thats off topic now.
Functionality
Good, I liked its look and feel, especially that silver colour scheme with those neat little rounded corners.
Speed and Reliability
Both good: very fast, although not as fast as Mozilla Firefox and didn’t crash at all in my 10 minute test session, although after downloading something in Firefox, I’d find that it (Firefox), would crash :S.
What do you think about it? Post your comments please. If you haven’t yet downloaded it, just click here to do so.
